As we drove out to Outdoor School yesterday, the buses were filled with excitement as well as apprehension for our students. However, once we arrived at camp, any nerves dissipated and students were engaged with their counsellors from the get go. Icebreaker games were a way in which all students were able to better get acquainted with their counsellors as well as all members of their group.
Throughout the afternoon, each group was actively involved in either team building activities, predator/prey game, cooperative games course, jungle play (a natural play area) among many other games that counsellors "threw in" to add excitement to the afternoon.
The food out here has been outstanding so far; no one is going hungry - especially after last night's meal of roast beef, mashed potatoes, salad and veggies (spaghetti for those who do not eat roast)!
We had beautiful weather throughout the day, so a perfect end to the day came with a campfire and over a hundred children involved in a song a long with the camp staff. Many tired children headed off to bed to rejuvenate themselves for the next day ahead.
All is good, here at Outdoor School! Today is shaping up to be yet another amazing day of fun, sun, and learning!
